Falconer Design has been appointed to lead the full refurbishment of guest rooms at the iconic Umhlanga Sands Resort, with a bold vision to elevate the current 3–4 star experience into a luxurious 5-star offering.
Our design concept draws inspiration from the resort’s spectacular setting — capitalizing on panoramic Indian Ocean views, golden KwaZulu-Natal sunrises, and vibrant coastal colours. The interiors will be entirely reimagined, with no items retained, ensuring a fresh and cohesive transformation.
Key upgrades include enhanced layouts for master bedrooms and bathrooms, strategic reconfiguration of the 4-sleeper kitchen, and the introduction of high-end furniture, bespoke joinery, and locally inspired artworks. Flexible lighting solutions will allow guests to personalize the ambiance of their space, reinforcing a sense of comfort and luxury.
Positioned as a vibrant ‘Sandton-on-the-Sea’, the refurbished rooms will offer an elevated guest experience that reflects both the dynamic local lifestyle and the resort’s premium beachfront appeal.
